Over 1000 fans were on hand for the party and to have the chance to have all of the cheerleaders sign their calendars. In addition to the autographs, fans also had the opportunity to tour the cheerleaders’ locker room and some of the young girls in attendance were treated to mini-makeovers similar to what the cheerleaders received on the calendar shoot.

“It’s really an honor to be in the calendar,” said fourth year cheerleader Delaney, who is appearing in her fourth calendar. “I was not expecting to be in it again and when I heard my name called, I was in complete shock.”
The manner in which the cheerleaders find out who will be featured in the calendar differs from year-to-year. In previous years, the cheerleaders have received emails notifying them, but this year coach Alto Gary sat the girls down at practice and called it out in front of the entire group. Since the ladies had no idea beforehand, it made for an exciting and emotional evening.

“Puerto Rico was amazing and it was really like a bonding experience for the team,” said rookie cheerleader Kelly, who is one of six cheerleaders on the cover as well as being featured in September 2015. “When I tried out, I didn’t know anyone and now I have a new group of close friendships that were developed on that trip.
“And today was so much fun and it was really inspiring to see so many fans out here to support us, it was a truly special day,” she continued. “Having all these little kids tell me that they look up to us and being a role model is really touching.”
This is the ninth annual calendar and it is available now for $10 with all proceeds benefiting the Houston Texans Foundation. To purchase a calendar, visit houstontexans.com.
