The Texas Rangers earned their second victory in Globe Life Park on Tuesday by beating the Los Angeles Angels 8-2. The Rangers bounced back after losing 6-3 on Monday after allowing the Angels to score six-straight runs, and not being able to respond.

Nick Martinez was on the mound and had a good performance. Pitching through seven innings, allowing five hits, one strike-out, and no runs. Martinez improved to 2-0 on the season. Martinez was able to contain L.A Angels center-fielder, Mike Trout who only got one hit off of Martinez.

After taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning, and increasing to 4-0 in the second, after both Robinson Chirinos, and Rougned Odor doubled deep allowing runners on base to reach home and score. The Texas Rangers we’re looking better than they did in their last two games, and it was only going to get better for the them.

One of the doubles in the second inning was caused by some poor communication between Angels center-fielder, Mike Trout and left-fielder, Matt Joyce, who were both confused on who was to attempt to catch the ball. And the Rangers took advantage it, and jumped a few more steps ahead of the Angels.

Elvis Andrus hit his first home run this season in the sixth inning, and Robinson Chirinos added another home run with two on base increasing the Rangers lead 8-0. The Rangers we’re able to hold on to it, and secure their victory, improving their record to 4-5.

Lately, the Rangers have been struggling dramatically with hitting. A majority of the starting line-up have had a low batting average, but there’s been some improvement in the last few games, and there definitely was in this game.

Elvis Andrus and Robinson Chirinos each finished the game with two hits, and both hit a home run. Prince Fielder also had two hits in the game, but did not have an RBI.

Shin-Soo Choo, Mitch Moreland both had a rough night, and we’re both only able to get one hit each. Adrian Beltre also had a rough night, finishing the game 0 for 5.

The Texas Rangers will wrap the first home series against the Los Angeles Angels today at 1:05 and will look to take a 2-1 series lead.
