This game is evenly matched now that Seth Russell is out for the year. Shock Linwood was suspended a game for his attitude problem and the loss last week to OU was horrible. That was then and this is now. The Bears has K-State in Waco this week. It`s time to get back on track! Lets take a look at the key players for Saturdays contest.
Why you should watch this game
You really want the Bears to stop the bleeding and get a win keeping them in the hunt for another bowl bid. The have the wins but you want them to finish strong.
Why shouldn`t watch this game
It`s time to start racking the leaves and clearing the yard for the fall decorations. “The Honey-Do” list has 13 items on it and you need to get it cut in half.
Offense
Sophomore Terence Williams showed that he is ready to be the man running the ball. He has 708 yards on the ground along with 8 touchdowns. He`s capable of carrying the load. Shock Linwood would be back to split duties on the ground and through the air. Freshman QB Zach Smith is a possible starter for the Bears this week. “Zach has a great upside because of his poise under center and knowledge for the play book”, said Baylor head coach Jim Grobe. After losing their last 3 Big 12 games has Bear faithfuls on edge. This just might be what the team needs. A pure passer under center.
Defense
Junior quarterback Jesse Ertz is very dangerous on the K-State offense. He leads the team with 1165 through the air and 630 yards on the ground. He`s accounted for 16 of the K-States touchdowns on offense. His 1759 of total offense sets him as the only threat for the Wildcats. Stop him and you will stop that offense. The corner backs and safeties has to play a bump and run type coverage on the outside. If not, the Wildcats receivers will expose the Bears defense.
Prediction
This will be a very close game from start to finish. I1m picking Baylor by 5 over K-State. This game could either way but I love the Bears defense. They are the difference between a win or losing the last 4 games in the Big 12.
