(#7) Maricio “Shogun” Hua (22-8-0) vs. (#8) Dan “Hendo” Henderson (29-11-0)
This is a five round, light heavyweight bout (205 lbs.) with two very seasoned veterans of the UFC. This is going to be a very technical fight. These fighters are known for their punching power and neither one of them is scared to take a punch. Hua is a Muay Thai fighter and Hendo is a wrestler/brawler, so expect fireworks. Neither of these guys are going to stall or run around the octagon. It all comes down to heart. In my opinion, Hendo has more heart. In the end, someone is going to get KTFO.
My prediction: Hendo gets the TKO in the 3rd round.
Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira (8-2-0) vs. CB “The Doberman” Dollaway (14-6-0)
This is going to be a very exciting fight in the middleweight (185 lbs.) division. These fighters have very different styles and they should really test each other’s skill sets. Ferreira is a Jiu Jitsu black belt. Dollaway is a Muay Thai/wrestler. I completely expect this fight to go to the ground quickly and see a lot of ground-and-pound. This has the potential to be a very bloody match. I think Dollaway is the more aggressive fighter and he will grind out the win.
My prediction: Dollaway wins via TKO.
Leonardo Santos (12-4-0) vs. Norman “Stormin” Parke (20-2-0)
This lightweight (155 lbs.) bout has two fighters that I do not know much about. I’ve seen a couple of their fights but I have not formed a definitive opinion on either one yet. Santos is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt. Parke is a judo/wrestler. I honestly think this one will be a very technical ground fight. One of them will get a takedown, and then it will be a chess match on the ground. If I go by the number then almost everything is in Parke’s favor. He throws more strikes, he defends takedowns better, he has more submissions and more KO’s. If I had to bet on this fight (which I wouldn’t do.)
My prediction: Parke wins via submission.
