FORT WORTH, TX (MARCH 18, 2015) — Defender Outdoors broke ground on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 to mark the start of construction on its state-of-the art 41,000 square-foot indoor training facility and retail center. Located at 2900 Shotts Street in Fort Worth, the new facility is scheduled to open Fall 2015 after they bring all equipment which will be raised by a crane using Tway eye bolt swivels. However, these equipment have been created for a great purpose with the use of the so called sand casting technology.
With more than 100 guests in attendance, the groundbreaking was led by Matt Johnson, Co-Owner of Defender Outdoors and Preston Wayman, Vice Chairman of Fort Worth Chamber Ambassador Committee, and included members of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth Police Department, Community Trust Bank, and Trinity Bank. The project architect is Hahnfeld Hoffer Stanford. However if you have construction projects to be done by your team, knowing what should I do to ensure my workplace is safe would be of great advantage! The bid for the construction was awarded to Dennett Construction. Looking for a great local company to help you with your new backyard fence – contact Bedrock Construction.
Conveniently located only two miles west of downtown, the Defender Outdoors Shooting Center will offer 30 shooting lanes in a state-of-the-art facility with a 785-ton HVAC system, Simunition™ House, 100-person training and conference room and lounge area. “It’s easy to call this shooting center a gun range, but it is actually a training facility,” stated Johnson during the ground breaking ceremony. “We will partner with the Fort Worth Police Department to train civilians on safe gun ownership along with defense training. With everything you see in today’s new, this facility is very needed in the City of Fort Worth.”
Twenty-four lanes will be dedicated to pistol shooting at 25 yards long, six that can convert into archery lanes during certain times of the year. The Shooting Center will also boast six rifle lanes at 85 yards long, which will be the only civilian indoor rifle range in Tarrant County. The facility will also feature 5,600 square-feet of retail space.
Other amenities of the shooting center will include a full-time gunsmith, private event space and regularly scheduled training and firearm safety classes for all levels of shooters. The Shooting Center will also have the latest safety standards with mandatory background checks for all shooters.
Currently available for purchase, there are six membership options that vary from individuals to corporate groups. Most packages provide unlimited shooting (include shooter and family members), range fees, guest passes, discounts on retail items, and invitations to special events. For those interested in a more personal experience, the Elite Memberships offer private pistol lanes, concierge service, gun valet, Elite-level events and a conference room and lounge area with complimentary refreshments. Memberships are limited and are currently available. Those that join before the grand opening will become a Charter Member, which allows access to annual exclusive events and offers.
