The Texas Rangers wrapped up their series against the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. The Rangers are now back on a series winning streak, and they are 2.5 games behind the Houston Astros for first place in the A.L. West standings.

Wandy Rodriguez took the mound in Game 1 for the Rangers. Rodriguez had a good game, allowing three hits, surrendering only one run, and striking out six batters. Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus recorded 4 RBIs for the first time in his career, which helped the Texas Rangers win Game 1 with a score of 6-2.

Colby Lewis was on the mound for the Rangers in Game 2. Lewis had a good afternoon, allowing four hits, surrendering three runs, and striking out six batters. The Rangers earned the victory for Game 2 with a final score of 11-7. This game turned out to be a roller coaster ball game, when the Rangers scored six runs in the fourth inning, including a three-run homerun by Mitch Moreland, earning a commanding 11-3 lead. However in the top of the ninth, the Rangers surrendered four runs, but managed to stop the Minnesota Twins from inflicting more damage to the Rangers’ lead.

Nick Martinez took the mound for the Rangers in Game 3. It was another solid performance for the young pitcher as he allowed eight hits, surrendered three runs, while striking out five batters. Despite the quality performance by Nick Martinez, the Rangers fell short, and ended up losing Game 3 with a score of 4-3. Despite losing this game, the Rangers still won the series and have tightened up the race for first place in the A.L. West.

The Rangers will face the Los Angeles Dodgers for a two-game series in Arlington starting Monday, which will be followed by another two-game series with the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Yovani Gallardo will be on the mound for the Rangers for Game 1 against the Dodgers at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
