What is the best part about working in nutrition?
Seeing people’s lives transformed who once felt horrible and now are living active, healthy lives by making simple changes in the foods they eat and the supplements they take.
What’s the coolest part of your job?
The coolest part of my job is working with the pharmacist, physicians and their patients helping identify nutrient depletions that can occur due to specifc health conditions or medications that most likely would be overlooked.
What’s some small things we can do that have a big impact on our health?
Drink less sodas and more water.
Most common health myth that you encounter
That people, including medical professionals who have some understanding of chemistry actually believe that vitamins just create expensive urine… That’s like saying what you eat really has no impact on your weight or your health.
Three things we should be aware of concerning our personal health
1. Natural does not mean neutral and while dietary supplements and vitamins can support health they can interact with certain medications. 2. There is no one-size-fits-all supplement plan. 3. Balance is the key to everything, too much of a good thing is not always good!
