Well this week’s forecast calls for a sunny and hot few days, but here in Texas you never know what to expect. On this week’s edition of the Blitz Weekender we have some fun outside events to get that Texas tan on, or step inside to cool off. Take a look at this week’s exciting calendar!

Thursday June 20
Robert Plant: Many of us who are a little wiser and may have a few more years under our belts have heard of Robert Plant. Discovered back in 1968, this Black Country hills singer from England later became known for his role as the lead vocalist and lyricist of the well known rock band Led Zeppelin. Plant’s show starts at 8 p.m. at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas. Plant has had an exciting musical career as a singer and songwriter and his solo career has been good to him as well. This is a great opportunity to see a singing legend up close in concert. www.thepalladiumballroom.com

Rangers vs. Athletics: Some would say the Rangers have a rough last few weeks, but real fans stand by them no matter the score. The Rangers will compete in their last game against the Oakland Athletics before they leave their home field. Having played the Athletics six times in May, it was pretty evenly matched with each team taking home 3 wins. Outfielder Jeff Baker has officially been put on the disabled list after a sprained right thumb and a new catcher and left-handed pitcher have been called up. Let’s hope the Rangers can pull out one more home game win for a home crowd. www.texas.rangers.mlb.com
