#11 Stanford Cardinal vs. Colorado Buffaloes

Lets face it, Stanford comes in ranked #11 in the country with the recent CFP standings. For the past four weeks the Buffs have played their hearts out but came up short. This is a pretty good team that starts off slow week after week after week. I find myself chasing butterflies thinking they could actually make some noise in the PAC12. Well being in last place and Saturday’s game is another chance to get to six wins and possibly a bowl game. Let’s breakdown the team and game plan a Buffaloes victory against Stanford.

Buffaloes Offense
Sefo Liufau has be manage the clock on offense. The running game looked a lot better last week but he has to be the catalyst to get a win on Saturday. Almost winning the last two games means nothing. They’re still losses. Quarterback play has to be darn near perfect because the Cardinal corners are experienced and they incorporate great safety coverage between the numbers. Stanford’s LB Blake Martinez is playing lights out! He leads the Cardinals with 91 tackles. He plays most of the snaps over the center stopping the run.

Buffaloes Defense
DT Jordan Correll is the key on defense. He will apply pressure on QB Kevin Hogan. His ability to stop the run between the tackles makes him a very disruptive force on the D-Line. Hogan is very athletic and dangerous in and out of the pocket so the Buffs will have their hands full. The Buffs defense is quick off the snap but run out of gas. If the Buffs come out and play physical it would change the dynamics of the Cardinal offense.

Prediction
It will be a miracle for the Buffs to win this one. Why? The Cardinal are way too explosive on offense. Kevin Hogan is a Heisman finalist and the Cardinal are riding a seven game winning streak. I can’t see the Buffaloes stopping it. The Cardinal 34 – Buffs 21. I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt it in this case.
