The Texas Rangers have wrapped up their series in Chicago against the White Sox and have wrapped up their current road trip.

After sliding past the White Sox in Game 1, the Rangers were unable to pull through in Games 2 and 3, and are now 3.5 games behind the first place Houston Astros in the A.L. West standings.

Colby Lewis was on the mound for the Rangers in Game 1. Pitching through eight innings, Lewis allowed nine hits, surrendered one run, and struck out seven batters to earn his seventh win in 2015. The Rangers trailed the White Sox until the ninth inning when Mitch Moreland hit a single right that allowed Shin-Soo Choo and Elvis Andrus to score, take the lead and win the game.

Nick Martinez took the mound for the Rangers in Game 2. Through six innings, Martinez allowed six hits, surrendered three runs, and struck out two batters. The Rangers lost Game 2 with a score of 3-2. The Rangers offense struggled and were able to only record four hits. The Rangers had several chances to either tie or take the lead, but the struggling offense could not pull through.

Yovani Gallardo was on the mound for the Rangers in Game 3. Pitching just five innings, Gallardo allowed five hits, didn’t surrender any runs, and struck out three batters. The game went into extra innings after it was tied at two after nine. At the top of the eleventh inning, the Rangers had all bases loaded with one out, but they could not capitalize on the golden opportunity as the White Sox forced a double play to retire the Rangers offense, and the game officially ended in the bottom of the eleventh when White Sox third baseman Gordon Beckham hit a home run to give the White Sox the 3-2 win and the series win.

The Rangers are now headed back to Arlington for a three-game series against A.L. West rival, the Oakland Athletics.

Chi-Chi Gonzalez will take the mound for the Rangers for Game one. The Rangers will look to get back on the win column.
