Iowa State’s season ended Thursday with a 60-59 loss to the UAB Blazers in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. ISU forward Georges Niang shot only 4-of-15 from the floor for 11 points and the Cyclones could not hold a 55-51 lead with three minutes left.
UAB was led by Robert Brown (21 points) and William Lee (14 points). The Blazers out-rebounded the Cyclones 52-37 which allowed for second chance point opportunities.
