Kansas State Wildcats vs. TCU Horned Frogs
Saturday – November 8 – 6:30 pm
TV: FOX
Amon G. Carter Stadium – Ft. Worth
This is a highly anticipated game between two teams vying for Big 12 Conference supremacy. The winner of this game will continue to be in the hunt for the first ever College Football Playoff hunt. The loser is probably looking at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
TCU had an incredible comeback last weekend in Morgantown as they erased a 10-point deficit over the last seven minutes or so to win on a Jaden Oberkrom field goal. The 37-yarder allowed the Horned Frogs to move up to No. 6 in the playoff rankings. “We don’t worry about the rankings right now and where we’re at,” said Horned Frogs safety Chris Hackett on ESPN.com recently.
TCU is scoring about 48 points per game thanks to some blowout victories. Kansas State isn’t far behind with 38.3 per game. Since both defenses are playing well expect this one to be a lot lower in points scored. The Horned Frogs will have their work cut out for them at Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday. Running back B.J. Catalon will have to be the man again, while dual threat and suddenly Heisman hopeful quarterback Trevone Boykin will look to keep the Wildcats defense off kilter.
The Wildcats are led by quarterback Jake Waters who has passed for 11 TDs and only three interceptions this season while amassing 1,878 yards. He spreads the ball around the offense evenly and also is a threat to run. When going to the air, he’ll look for Tyler Lockett and Curry Sexton. RB Charles Jones handles the ground attack.
Prediction: TCU 23 – Kansas State 17 with TCU pulling off a miracle stop at the end of the game for the victory.
