7 Ways to be a Happier You

1. Do What You Love (your passion)
Live happier by doing what you love. Whether that is painting, acting, singing, or playing the guitar; be proud in what your passion is and embrace it. Doing what you love can bring excitement into your life and make life even more enjoyable.

2. Eliminate the Thought of a Perfect Life
Ask yourself does anyone have a perfect life? The person you may think is living a perfect life probably isn’t. We all have problems and situations that we have to deal with. Nobody is perfect and you imagining a perfect life is not going to make you any happier. Sometimes you have to accept things for what they are and move on.

3. Remove Yourself from Negative People
In life you will encounter people who have no value towards you or just add extra baggage that you don’t need. This person could be a close friend, or a recent boyfriend/girlfriend. Whatever the case may be, if you feel that person is dragging you down then its time to distance yourself from them. The negative energy will only makes things worse.

4. Laugh More (Smiling)
You know what they say; laughing is the best medicine! And its true according to helpguide.org laughing reduces stress, boosts your immune system, and improves your mood. A laugh a day can go a long way.

5. Not Caring What Others Think
It’s okay to be a little self-conscious about the things you do, but the key to happiness is not giving 2 cents about what others think. You can’t live your life concerned about what someone might think or you’ll never be able to do anything! Be bold and do what gives your great gratitude.

6. Spending Time with Yourself
Sometimes it’s best to get away from everyone and just be alone. Go see a movie by yourself or take yourself out to your favorite restaurant. Whatever it may be, spending time with yourself can be very refreshing and lighten your day so that you are able to refocus and return to your daily routines.

7. Leaving the Past in the Past
Accepting that something is in the past can be one of the most challenging things. We as people often want to revisit, mourn, or live in denial over situations. But the best thing to do is to believe that you did all you could do and that it is over now. The past is the past and you shouldn’t let it stop you from being happy. Keep pushing and look toward what is in store for you in the future.
