Birmingham seems to be the flagship organization and team to beat in the USFL. They are undefeated and looking to stroll into the playoffs. It’s Week 7 and so far no defense has been capable of stopping the Stallions offense either through the air or on the ground. Pittsburgh is looking to step up and shutdown Birmingham this week. The playoffs will be starting in the next few weeks and positioning for the second season starts this week! Let’s take a look at this week’s USFL Game of the Week.
Birmingham Stallions
Birmingham has awakened their sleeping giant at running back, former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Bo Scarbrough. He looks as if he has turned back the hands of time carrying the ball for the Stallions. Last week he rushed for 104 yards on 16 carries. “The running game needed a boost, and he was ready for the challenge”, USFL analyst RJ Young shared. Keep in mind that J’Mar Smith is dangerous carrying the ball himself. Look for the Stallions to keep on rolling along!
Pittsburgh Maulers
The key for Pittsburgh will be the play of their defense. Keep an eye on Olive Sagapolu from Wisconsin. He’s a defensive tackle that can play like Aaron Donald of the LA Rams when he’s focused. He’s a really good run stopper that pressures the quarterback on every snap he plays. He’s 6′ 2″, 341 pounds with big game experience under his belt. I believe he’ll be the x-factor the Maulers today. Look for quarterback Vad Lee to move the ball down the field in this one.
Prediction
Questions loom over this game. Can the Stallions keep up their winning ways? Will the Maulers get their second win of the season? Which team will play a mistake free game today? They only way to find out is to turn in and see! I can’t wait to watch this one from start to finish. The over/under is 51, so take the under in this one! Oh and I’m taking the Stallions by 3!
