It’s that time of year when entertainment junkies spend time looking back on the best of 2013. And with Hollywood’s awards season underway, the focus is on film. 2013 brought many awesome movies, but rather than counting down one more list of the best films or performances of the year, we thought we’d take a different angle and do something a bit more exciting. Here are the top-10 sex scenes from the last year in film!
10. Jonah Hill & Satanic Demon (This Is The End)
Okay, just kidding. But seeing Jonah Hill get raped by an extraordinarily well-endowed demon in the midst of the apocalypse was… interesting.
9. Tom Cruise & Andrea Riseborough (Oblivion)
If you’re into graphic, realistic sex scenes, skip it. It’s pretty short and uneventful. But the mere fact that these two get it on in a glass-walled pool suspended above an abandoned future Earth was pretty atmospherically awesome.
8. Joaquin Phoenix & Scarlett Johansson (Her)
It’s basically glorified phone sex, but Johansson made it oddly hot. The premise of the film is that Phoenix’s character falls in love with an artificially intelligent operating system (voiced by Johansson), and the two explore intimacy the only way possible.
7. Michael Douglas & Matt Damon (Behind The Candelabra)
This is a very tender, almost artful oral sex scene between two men in the HBO film about Liberace. It was progressive to the point that, well, the film had to go through HBO and not popular cinema.
6. Lindsay Lohan & James Deen (The Canyons)
Let’s get one thing straight: James Deen is a pornstar. He’s a pornstar to the extent that Adam & Eve has toys named after him and the films that he’s starred in over the years! But that didn’t stop Lindsay Lohan from hopping aboard, and the result is essentially a porno.
5. Shailene Woodley & Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now)
This is one of the most honest, realistic teen sex scenes of all time. Woodley beautifully portrays the apprehension, discomfort, and pleasure of her first time.
4. Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Scarlett Johansson (Don Jon)
Johansson had to make the list once in person, rather than just for her voice! And in a film largely about sexual tension, her sex scene with Gordon-Levitt was immensely satisfying, if perhaps a bit less revealing than some fans might like.
3. Cameron Diaz & A Car (The Counselor)
There’s just no way to describe it. See the film. Cameron Diaz quite literally has sex with a Ferrari. It’s awesome, hilarious, and kind of ruins sex for a while all at the same time.
2. Leonardo DiCaprio & Margot Robbie (The Wolf Of Wall Street)
The whole movie is basically an orgy filled with drug use, profanity, and of course sex. But these two make their main sex scene count!

It’s the scene everyone’s talking about after 2013—and with good reason. These two simply give us one of the steamiest, most intense sex scenes in recent memory.
