All eyes will be on Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez in Austin this weekend as he tries to repeat as the MotoGP winner at the Circuit of the Americas. This will be the MotoGP’s second race of the season, as Marc outraced Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Valentino Rossi during the first race in Qatar. Marquez won despite having broken a leg just a few short weeks ago.

Rossi will be trying to prove his close race and second place finish in Qatar was not a one off experience and that he is up for the challenge of competing against Marquez. Dani Pedrosa, also riding for Repsol Honda will also be looking to finish on the podium. Last year, at the inaugural MotoGP race at the Circuit of the Americas Pedrosa finished second just  1.5 seconds behind teammate Marquez.

Two Americans will also be competing in the international field of superstar riders, NGM Forward Racing’s Colin Edwards and Drive M7 Aspar’s Nicky Hayden. Edwards recently announced that he will be retiring after this year’s MotoGP season.

Racing and other activities will be going on all weekend at the Circuit of the Americas located in Austin, TX.  Interested race fans can check out the COTA website for event and ticket information at www.circuitoftheamericas.com
