I wanted to believe that the Buffs would pull this game out. Watching the Buffaloes is like watching your kid play in a tight game and they have the talent to pull out the win but run out of gas near the end. So as a father you take your son out into the back yard and work on his weakness so that he’ll be ready to compete next week. As a fan we start asking questions about this team. Do we stop believing in a good team? Will next week be the turning point for this season? Here’s the answer to your questions .. No! Washington State 27 – Colorado 3
Buffaloes Offense
Cade Aspay passed the ball 40 times connecting 26 times for 238 yards and two interceptions. Is he the future under center for Colorado? Is there anyone else who can play quarterback? What happened to this awesome game plan that Colorado had? The running game led by Phillip Lindsay was okay. He gained 78 yards on 16 carries but they stopped giving him the ball. As a team they had a combined 85 yards on the ground. You can beat a Division III school with those numbers.
Buffaloes Defense
Washington State was too strong for the Buffs defense. Luke Falk threw for 199 yards and a touchdown before being knocked out the game. Redshirt Freshman Peyton Bender came in to relieve Falk and put up decent numbers with 133 yards, on 13-22 passes one interception and a touchdown. The Cougars running game looked strong or was it the poor tackling from the Buffs defense, you take your pick. The Buffaloes showed flashes of being a bowl caliber team but fell off during the middle of the season by not finishing teams off when they had a chance.
Parting Thought
I predict that the Buffaloes will lose their next game. It’s hard believing that they will beat Utah in Utah. I love Colorado, but let’s face the fact, this is not a good team.
