This past week has brought the rain and some cooler weather with it, so it’s starting to feel like Fall in Texas. But by Saturday it should be clearing up and Sunday shows sunny skies and temperatures in the 70’s. So Blitz is prepared for any type of weather this weekend and presents some fun indoor and outdoor activities. But don’t forget, Sunday is the last day of the Texas State Fair, so get on over to the Fair Grounds if you haven’t already!

Thursday October 17th
Cook Hall Beer Dinner
: Cook Hall in Dallas is once again hosting a beer dinner that everyone’s invited to. The featured brew this time is delicious Brooklyn Brewery Beer. The $55 price tag will get you five great-tasting food samplings paired with some cold ones. Each pairing is prepared to maximize flavors, so you won’t be disappointed. So call today and make your reservations, you won’t want to miss the delectable flavors.

The Hard Line at Dick’s: Dick’s Last Resort is the place to be this Thursday night along with Mike Rhyner and Corby Davidson from 1310 am The Ticket. The station will be hosting a live remote so come watch the two do their thing in front of all the P1’s from 3-7 p.m. Will there be Ticketchicks? Will Killer finally let loose? Or maybe the Dick’s staff will hit them with some abuse, you’ll just have to come and find out.  

San Jose Sharks vs Dallas Stars: The Stars will be taking on the Sharks at the AAC for the first time this season. The Stars currently sit 2-3. The game will be a tough one as the Sharks are first in the Pacific Division with a perfect 6-0 record. The Stars will need all their fans out Thursday night to cheer on their team and hand the Sharks their first loss of the season. Be there!

Friday October 18th
Kacey Musgraves
: She’s new to the country music scene, but she’s making a name for herself fast. Kacey Musgraves will be here in Dallas performing at the Texas State Fair. She’ll be appearing on the Chevy Main stage at 8:30 p.m., it’ll be a great show to see. She’s still new, but she might be huge one day so take this opportunity to see her at a great price in a great atmosphere.

Michael Buble: Not only is he stunningly handsome, Michael Buble has such a sweet and soothing voice. He can make you happy and bubbly or sorrowful and yearning, but it’s no doubt his songs evoke some sort of emotion that takes over. He’s a joy to watch on television, but now you have the opportunity to see this entertaining performance live in person. Tickets are going fast for his concert at the American Airlines center at 8 p.m., so you better get them now.

Index Festival 2: Friday is full of music and the Index Festival 2 is no exception. Friday kicks off the two day festival which will have Deep Ellum swarming with musicians and plenty of music lovers. There are so many artists from so many different genres such as Andrew Bird, Girl Talk and 58 other bands. These bands will be performing across six stages throughout Deep Ellum so check out the schedule and pick out your favorites.

Saturday October 19th
Seattle Sounders vs FC Dallas
: It’s Dallas’ last home game of the regular season which means you better get over to the Toyota Stadium this Saturday. Despite the one-point loss last week against Chicago, FC Dallas is ready for the win on their last home turf game. It won’t be an easy battle for Dallas though. Last time the two teams met, Seattle shut out Dallas 3-0, but Seattle is coming off a three game losing streak. So suit up and cheer on your favorite Dallas soccer team.

Carvey, Miller and Nealon: The Allen Event Center is hosting some great entertainers this Saturday. The center will be bursting with laughter all night as Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller and Kevin Nealon headline a triple bill of great stand-up comedy. They are three of the most legendary performers for the comedic show “Saturday Night Live.” You won’t want to miss this packed house listening to some funny guys talking about funny things.

Sunday October 20th
J. Cole: Just this year he released his album, Born Sinner, which took no time at all hitting #1 on the Billboard 200. He’s collaborated with some big names in the rapping world and now he’s here to perform for you. J. Cole’s tour What Dreams May Come is taking America on a hip-hop journey and lablemate Wale is there with him. The two will be at the Verizon Theatre this Sunday at 7:30 p.m. so get your tickets before he’s gone.

Texas State Veggie Fair: While many Texans love their meat, there are some who prefer a more veggie-filled lifestyle. And the Texas State Veggie Fair is back in Dallas preparing plenty of festivities and fried foods. See what veggies taste like fried and enjoy other vegetarian and vegan food. There will also be a beer garden to wash everything down and a farmers market so you can try new recipes once you’re home. If this is your lifestyle or just something you want to try, it’ll be a fun event for all.
