The weekend is here and so is better weather. The Stars made it back to the playoffs in the first time in forever and so did our Lil’ Mavericks. The Blitz Weekender is here to inform you of what is worth your time. So get to reading and start making plans!

Thursday, April 17
Patio Sessions: Time to make your way to the AT&T Performing Arts Center for this special event. Holt & Stockslager will be playing the songs of Simon & Garfunkel. The best part? It’s free! We’re betting the encore will be “Mrs. Robinson”!

Neil Young: He’s in town and playing at The Meyerson. The “Godfather of Grunge” has been doing his thing for over 45 years. Listen to his songs from his days with Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills & Nash and solo work. It will be greatness and you should be there.

Deep Ellum Brewing Beer Tour: Like a kid in a candy store this is a must for beer lovers here in the Metroplex. Sure it costs $10 to get in but in return you receive a beer glass, a tour of the brewery, answers to your beer questions and beer. If you get the munchies there’s food trucks to serve your needs. There’ll probably be some live music to enjoy as well. So do it!

Friday, April 18
Evita: You’ve heard of the film, heck you might of seen it. Well here’s your chance to take it in as a live performance. Evita is being performed at the Music Hall at Fair Park and the show is at 7:30. Get some culture. Ok?

DJ Rob Viktum: The Slip Inn is the place to be to check out DJ Rob Viktum. He’s been spinning records since he was a kid and now look he’s doing it for a living. Seriously though, he does a great job and who knows what kind of mayhem will ensue. Party starts at 10pm.

Gospel Jazz: It’s Easter Weekend and the folks at Lue’siana Po Boys are having a free get together. Partake in the the Gospel Jazz sounds of Chuck Anderson Trio. Relax and dine on good Cajun Cuisine. Door prizes given every hour starting at 6:30.

Saturday, April 19
Toronto FC vs FC Dallas: Catch some MLS soccer this weekend up in Frisco. FC Dallas lost a close one against Seattle but look to regroup and get back on track. Their undefeated season is gone but it’s no biggie since the season is young. Support the team and wear red.

Spring Swing Burlesque Revue: It’s a tribute to spring and gorgeous women! The feature performer is Medianoche from Seville, Spain who is an internationally known pinup model. Be prepared for some skin and swing music.

Flight of Spirit: This isn’t what you think it is. Nothing to do with planes but everything to do with suspending yourself from hooks. Yeah it’s the Suspension Practitioner Convention aka SUSCON and it’s being held at the Lakewood Theater. Be there at 9pm.

Sunday, April 20
Chicago White Sox vs Texas Rangers: Robbie Ross is back on the mound and looking to pitch another gem. Nolan Ryan won’t be present so White Sox manager Robin Ventura is safe if he decides to head to the mound. Who knows Prince Fielder might actually hit another homerun in this one. Go Rangers!

That’s it. Enjoy Easter Sunday and relax. Nothing else of note for Sunday.
