The Dallas-Fort Worth area has so many renowned golf courses including Colonial Country Club, Dallas National Golf Club, Preston Trail Golf Club, Brook Hollow Golf Club, Northwood Club, River Crest Country Club, Vaquero Club and Shady Oaks Country Club. One thing all of those courses have in common is that they are private. In some cases, VERY private.
However, the list of courses that everyday people in North Texas can tee it up on is very impressive. In no particular order, here are five of the best courses YOU can play:
COWBOYS GOLF CLUB on Lake Grapevine is the first and only NFL-themed golf club. TOUR 18 in Flower Mound is the perfect course for those who may not be friends with someone who is a member of Augusta National, but would like to experience playing Amen Corner. THE TRIBUTE GOLF CLUB in The Colony does for the Open Championship courses what Tour 18 does for American courses. All 18 holes of the course that sit on Lake Lewisville are inspired by courses you see every year in the season’s third major championship. The course is always in great shape and is wide open (making things very fair for those of us who may occasionally spray it off the tee).
