#10 Oregon Ducks vs Texas Longhorns
Monday – December 30 – 5:45 PM
TV: ESPN Alamodome – San Antonio

This is the final game for Texas Longhorns head coach Mack Brown. After 16 seasons he has been moved on by the higher ups in Austin after much controversy. He’ll leave with 167 wins at Texas second all-time behind the legendary Darrell Royal. Before the season even started many speculated that the Longhorns would contend for a conference title. The Longhorns did before losing their regular season finale to Baylor who won the Big 12.

The Oregon Ducks started the season ranked 4th in the country and rose to the two spot before losing Stanford and Arizona. It might appear to some that with the Stanford loss and no longer in the national title hunt that the team gave up on the season. They did finish the season with a win in the rivalry game with Oregon State.

Texas Longhorns
With season starter David Ash out with concussions, senior quarterback Case McCoy has filled in well leading the team to a victory over rival the Oklahoma Sooners. His arm isn’t the strongest and he isn’t very accurate at times. McCoy much like his older brother Colt does possess a lot of heart and drive. The Longhorns will be without star running back Jonathan Gray, but Malcom Brown will pick up the slack. Wide receiver Mike Davis and tight end Jaxon Shipley will be McCoy’s go to men in the passing game. The Longhorn defense is still one of the worst and will be tested against the high powered Ducks offense.

Oregon Ducks
Heisman candidate and helmsman Marcus Mariota is the man in charge of the Ducks offense. He passes with precision and has a cannon for an arm as evidenced by his 3,412 yards through the air and 30 touchdowns. The rushing game is handled by the two-headed beast of Byron Marshall and Thomas Tyner. The duo will have a field day if they get to the second level of the Texas defense. Wide recievers Josh Huff and Bralon Addison are standout and will make big plays. The Ducks defense is a good one especially in the trenches. Their secondary is one of the better ones in the country.

Prediction: The Ducks show up for this one and win easily. Oregon 42 – 20
