The regular season is coming to an end soon and the playoffs are right around the corner. The Tampa Bay Bandits and New Orleans Breakers are gearing up to play spoilers for this game. Both teams are in the South Division of the USFL and it’s getting thick! A win for either team will be a huge leap heading into the second season for the USFL. If you haven’t been paying a lot of attention to the USFL then you will need to watch this game. There are some talented players on both teams. Let’s take a look at this week match up in Birmingham.

Tampa Bay Bandits
Tampa Bay is led by quarterback Jordan Ta’amu. He is leading the USFL in passing touchdowns and in interceptions with 9 along with 1502 yards through the air. He played football at Ole Miss. He will be the key for the Bandits today. The offense averages 17.3 points per game while the defense gives up 19.6. Today the Bandits can’t allow the Breakers to control the clock and move the ball down field whenever they want to. The Bandits are currently sitting in 3rd place in the South Division.

New Orleans Breakers
Quarterback Kyle Sloter struggled last week against the Houston Gamblers. I was totally surprised how the Gamblers defense corralled the Breakers offense and held them to 13 points. Kyle Slotter threw three interceptions last week and it seemed that he lost all control on the Breakers offense. This is a new week and he has to play big. Last week is in the past. Tampa Bay has a very physical defense that lives off of their pass rush. Running back Jordan Ellis is second in the league in rushing and he will need the ball this week. The Breakers are currently in 2nd place in the South Division.

Prediction
This will be a good, close game to watch with both teams in the same division. The playoffs are coming and both teams have a chance to get in with a win. I’m taking the Breakers by 3! The over/under is 39.3, so take the over in this one.

Final Score
Breakers – 23
Bandits – 20
