What brought you to modeling and then photography?
I consider myself an attractive woman and wanted to start modeling but I didn’t not like how the photographer took my pictures. So, I started shooting myself and I liked the way it looked so I figured that I could start photographing other people too.
Who is your style icon?
I really don’t have any famous icon. I started modeling and there were several people I truly adored but they weren’t famous, although, they are probably getting famous now. After modeling a while, I wanted to know all there was about it; either being in front of the camera or behind. I wanted to show people that they could be beautiful in any form.
What’s better…being in front of the lens or behind it?
I hated being a model; that’s why I’m very kind and sympathetic towards my models because I know what it feels like. I shoot a lot of people from political figures, to actors, to models. I like to work with beginner models because I like to help give them confidence. 99.9% of people are not confortable when you are pointing a camera at them, all their insecurities come out. What I learned is that I can talk to you and in about 15-20 minutes you’ll be fine.
If you could have a photo shoot with anyone in history who would it be and why?
Probably Sophia Loren. She is so beautiful and so different that it doesn’t matter what’s going on around her.
Are pictures really worth a thousand words?
Yes.
What’s the coolest thing that you own?
My cat is the coolest thing I own. His name is Gucci. My Cat! His name is Gucci and he is 12 years old. He is a Siamese cat and I brought him with me from Russia.
What’s the most picturesque place in Dallas?
Lake Grapevine in Fort Worth when the sun is setting. With all the beautiful colors gleaming over the horizon it looks like it’s heaven.
