#12 Colorado Buffaloes vs Arizona Wildcats
Saturday – November 12 – 9:00 pm
TV: FS1
Arizona Stadium – Tuscon – Arizona
Colorado has a chance to prove something tonight. “I’m so proud of this team”, a fan said. For the past three seasons the Buffaloes started off fast and fell apart at the end of the year. The Buffaloes have an 87% chance to win this week. The team is focused and poised to capture the PAC-12 South with a win over Arizona Saturday. Let’s take a look at the keys to victory this weekend.
Offense
The offense is averaging 33 points per game. The running game was the key to victory last week. Philip Lindsay is others are averaging 208 yards on the ground. So running the ball will be the first option against the Wildcats who are giving up 202 yards on the ground per game. The Wildcats struggle in pass defense as well. They give up an average of 272 through the air. The young corners and safety in the Wildcats secondary are known to give up big plays down the field.
Defense
Sophomore QB Brandon Dawkins is the only threat on offense. Not only does he lead the offense in passing with 1055 yards through the air, he’s the leading rusher with 86 carries for 597 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s accounted for 14 touchdowns this year. He can kill a defense with his arm and his legs. The defense has to apply pressure through the middle of the Wildcats offensive line. The left guard is making his second start and last week he gave up three sacks on that side. The linebackers have to stay at home because Brandon Dawkins can run when he’s in trouble. Stop him and you stop Arizona’s offense!
Prediction
I’m picking Colorado to continue to roll in this one. The only way the team can lose this one is to be looking ahead to next week’s game. Colorado 27 – Arizona 10
