“We’ve Seen That: Movies Then and Now Podcast” is the new digital radio show focusing on movies that we have loved over our lifetime.
The hosts of this podcast are TJ Rives and Jay Betsill. They are both sports media members who became good friends courtesy of their taste in movies, specifically the 1990 Harrison Ford classic Presumed Innocent.
For this edition of the podcast, in honor of March Madness, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hoosiers starring Gene Hackman, Barbara Hershey and Dennis Hopper.
We revisit Norman Dale, the coach with a checkered past who takes the small town Hickory High basketball team and molds them into a contender for the Indiana state championship. While extolling the greatness of Jimmy Chitwood and wondering aloud how Buddy magically reappears on the team after being thrown off. We also delve into the real-life team that the movie was based on with some fun true-or-false trivia.
Hoosiers was released on Nov. 14, 1986 and grossed $28,607,524 at the box office.
