It’s safe to say the Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues are familiar with each other. They have played each other 11 times this season battling for a conference title and advantage in the playoffs. It is nearly a shame that one game remains in the season.

Hockey fans don’t want this series to end. Six games isn’t enough to decide the fate of these teams in the playoffs. Each team split road victories and home losses in the postseason. There have been comeback games and stellar goaltending on both sides. Coaching strategies seem like chess matches, each head coach countering the other. Tensions are at their highest and so is the level of play.

If you’re like me, you want take advantage of every moment in every game.

First of all, don’t miss a minute
It seems every game starts and ends with scoring opportunities on both sides. Scoring chances come in waves and you don’t want to miss a goal or an unfathomable save. So eat dinner before the action, get your work done early and get comfortable because you won’t want to leave your seat.

If you miss the action live…
Well hopefully you can record it. But don’t just record the game, capture the hour-long postgame show afterwards. The way this series has been going hints that 60 minutes might not be enough. Five out of eleven games in the season series have been decided in overtime (twice in the playoffs). Make sure you don’t that potential historic game-winning moment.

If you’re at the game…
Be loud early and often. There was a wait-and-see feeling with the St. Louis crowd in Game 6. Therefore, the crowd was not a factor and that element was won back by the Stars. The Stars fought for the home ice advantage (by winning the conference title) for a game just like this.

And finally
Soak in the moment. Enjoy watching great hockey. With the Capitals eliminated, the Stars and Blues are the best teams remaining. Each team is built for a Stanley Cup appearance, expect every players’ best game will be on display. If only these teams could play a couple more games.
