Denver Nuggets Overall Record: 29-41

The Denver Nuggets went 3-0 the week before… and looked really good. But last week was the tale of all tales. The Nuggets went 1 and 3 and looked really bad. Late game break downs and turnovers cost the team vital positioning for a playoff run.

Mar. 14 – Heat 124 -Nuggets 119 – Loss
The Heat led by Dwyane Wade’s 19 and Joe Johnson’s 18 blanketed the Nuggets run in the 4th quarter. The Nuggets made costly mistakes in the 4th with crucial turnovers late in the game. Kenneth Faried scored 24 and grabbed 11 rebounds. Emmanuel Mudiay scored 23 points and dished out 10 assists in the loss. It was a close game but turnovers cost them in the end.

Mar. 15 – Magic 116 – Nuggets 110 – Loss
Gary Harris struggled in the first half, but in the final two quarters he came to life, however it was too late. He finished the game with 18 points, but his defense was the key to keeping the Nuggets close. Although the Nuggets have lost back-to-back games and scoring in the 100’s they’re giving up more than they score. Darrell Arthur has been playing touch defense on the boards and grabbing game changing rebounds. But it isn’t enough to secure the needed wins.

Mar. 17 – Hawks 116 – Nuggets 98 – Loss
Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Hawks with 21 points and seven rebounds. He was the deciding factor in this game. None of the Nuggets guards could contain him. Gary Harris led the team with 18 points, but he couldn’t keep up with the Hawks uncontested perimeter shooting. The defense was a non factor in this one.

Mar 19 – Nuggets 101 – Hornets 93 – Win
The Nuggets get the win in the last three minutes of the game to beat the Hornets in regulation. D. J. Augustin played big in this one. Augustin led the team with 24 points and a key steal in the fourth sealed the deal. Nick Batum scored 24 for the Hornets and looked as if he would bring his team back.
The team stopped a three game losing streak with the win. Let’s see what this week brings.
