UFC FIGHT NIGHT: MOUSASI VS. HALL II PREVIEW
- Updated: November 18, 2016
UFC Fight Night: Mousasi vs. Hall II will air on November 19, 2016 in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
#5 GEGARD “THE DREAMCATCHER” MOUSASI (4-6-2) VS. #10 URIAH “PRIMETIME” HALL (12-7-0)
This is a five round main event in the middleweight division. Mousasi brings boxing, kickboxing and judo giving him 21 wins via knockout and 12 via submission. Hall brings striking, kickboxing and jiu-jitsu giving him eight wins via knockout. In their first meeting Hall took the fight in a second round TKO from his impressive kickboxing background, but will he be able to do it again? Hall has had a good career in the sport, but has seemed to of gone on an up and down streak where Mousasi has begun to make a quick comeback and looks to comeback with a vengeance. Unless Hall can place pressure on Mousasi to keep him from setting up and knockout attempts of takedowns I really don’t see this fight playing out the same way as last time. My prediction: Mousasi wins via submission in Round 2.
ANNA “PANDA” ELMOSE (3-1-0) VS. AMANDA “ABC” COOPER (2-2-0)
This is a three round fight in the women’s strawweight division. Elmose brings boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai giving her all her three victories by knockout. Cooper brings boxing and jiu-jitsu making her well-rounded in submission techniques. Since both fighters are new to the sport it is hard to decide who has the advantage even when one is a well-rounded striker and the other is a grappler. All in all I say that Cooper looks to have a slight advantage in this fight all because she does have some striking techniques that she could use to help set up for a takedown, which Elmose really doesn’t seem to have much defense against. Though if Elmose can put pressure on Cooper with her striking then she could keep her from setting up a takedown, but she will also have to be fast and cautious about it so that way Cooper will not have any moments to take the lead in the fight. My prediction: Cooper wins via submission in Round 3.
#5 IAN “UNCLE CREEPY” MCCALL (13-5-1) VS. NEIL “2TAP” SEERY (16-12-0)
This is a three round fight in the flyweight division. McCall brings karate, Kung fu and jiu-jitsu giving him great ground techniques as well as cardio. Seery brings boxing and jiu-jitsu making him efficient in both striking and grappling techniques. Since both fighters have striking power that seems to an even aspect of the fight, but I believe that McCall has a better technique of grappling than Seery. With that in mind I really do not see Seery standing much of a chance unless he could keep the fight on their feet where he does posses better striking then he would be able to beat McCall. Though I really see McCall taking the fight to the ground in a matter of minutes and thus putting Seery away with almost no effort. My prediction: McCall wins via submission in Round 2.
