UFC Fight Night: McDonald vs. Linker will air on July 13, 2016 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

#5 MICHAEL “MAYDAY” MCDONALD (17-3-0) vs. #8 JOHN “HANDS OF STONE” LINEKER (27-7-0)
This is a five round main event in the bantamweight division. In this fight are two fighters that are looking to work their way up the leader board with the hopes of possibly earning a future title shot. McDonald brings boxing, kickboxing and jiu-jitsu that have made him very efficient in both striking and grappling as well as having a near perfect record. Lineker brings boxing and jiu-jitsu that have given him 12 wins via knockout as well as containing well-rounded cardio. Since both fighters are well equipped with striking and grappling techniques choosing a favorite would be difficult, but since I must choose; I believe Lineker actually comes in as the better fighter due to his impressive style of technique of jiu-jitsu and striking that could prove to be lethal for McDonald. Add in the factor that Linker has much more experience under his belt gives him an even greater advantage as he has had much more fights to improve his skills and always come back stronger. Though McDonald has plenty of striking and grappling techniques that could be used to match that of Lineker and even give Lineker a much more challenging fight than he has ever faced. My prediction: Lineker wins via knockout in Round 3.

#3 TONY “EL CUCUY” FERGUSON (21-3-0) vs. LANDO “GROOVY” VANNATA (8-0-0)
This is a three round fight in the lightweight division. In this fight are two fighters on opposite ends of popularity as Ferguson is very well-known to the MMA world and Vannata has been fighting almost in the shadows and now looks to make his UFC debut. Ferguson brings boxing, jiu-jitsu and wrestling that have made him well equipped in striking a grappling techniques that have lead him to a near perfect record. Vannata brings striking and jiu-jitsu leading him to an undefeated record. Since fights are mainly decided by the most skilled, this fight looks to be an easy win for Ferguson due to his great striking and impressive grappling techniques that are much greater from any opponent Vannata has ever faced in his short career. Though since Vannata is still new to the sport of MMA he could have plenty of tricks he has been waiting to unleash and now that he will be fighting with the UFC he will want to show everyone why he is in the UFC to stay and one day make his way up the ladder into title contention. However, Ferguson plans to welcome Vannata to the UFC in an impressive fashion and use his jiu-jitsu and wrestling to show Vannata that he is now in a different fight game and will have to use his full techniques if he wants to stand a fighting chance in this fight. My prediction: Ferguson wins via TKO in Round 2.

#13 LAUREN “LUCKY” MURPHY (9-2-0) vs. KATLYN “BLONDE FIGHTER” CHOOKAGIAN (7-0-0)
This is a three round fight in the women’s bantamweight division. In this fight are two female athletes not very well known to the public or fans of the MMA world. Both are looking to find their way into the eyes of the public and prove to everyone why they are born to be martial artists and belong in MMA company. Murphy brings boxing and jiu-jitsu that have lead her to a near perfect record in the sport as well containing great knockout power. Chookagian brings striking and jiu-jitsu that have given her a perfect record. Since both of these fighters have not been studied much it is hard to determine who has the advantage in this fight, but if it is being based on experience then the advantage looks to go in favor of Murphy with her knockout striking power along with her style of jiu-jitsu that all appear to be much more than Chookagian has ever faced before. Though Chookagian has managed to maintain a perfect record with the help of her jiu-jitsu that she could use to match the skill set of Murphy and possibly pull off a quick upset in her debut fight inside the Octagon. Murphy plans to continue her current winning streak and with the power she puts into her striking I am not sure Chookagian will be able to withstand that kind of power. My prediction: Murphy wins via TKO in Round 1.
