By Kyler Kuehler

UFC Fight Night: dos Santos vs. Tuivasa will air on December 1, 2018, in Adelaide, Australia.

Preliminary Card (Fight Pass)

DAMIR ISMAGULOV (16-2-0) vs ALEX “HITMAN” GORGEES (7-0-0)
This is a three-round fight in the lightweight division. Ismagulov brings striking and jiu-jitsu. Gorgees brings striking and jiu-jitsu. They both have the same techniques, but Ismagulov appears to have better striking. He’s faster and more accurate than Gorgees. His takedown defense is greater, so Gorgees will not be able to use his jiu-jitsu. My prediction: Ismagulov wins via TKO in Round 1.

KEITA “K-TARO” NAKAMURA (33-9-2, 1 NC) vs SALIM “GRIZZLY” TOUAHRI (10-2-0)
This is a three-round fight in the welterweight division. Nakamura brings striking, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. Touahri brings Shooto and jiu-jitsu. From all aspects, Nakamura looks to take this fight with his jiu-jitsu and wrestling. Touahri could use his Shooto to try and stop his takedowns, but it will have little use. Nakamura will bring this fight to the ground where he will dominate it until the final bell. My prediction: Nakamura wins via unanimous decision.

Preliminary Card (Fox Sports 1)

KAI “DON’T BLINK” KARA-FRANCE (17-7-0, 1 NC) vs ELIAS GARCIA (6-1-0)
This is a three-round fight in the flyweight division. Kara-France brings boxing and jiu-jitsu. Garcia brings striking and jiu-jitsu. Both have their own techniques, but Kara-France has better striking. His boxing style will be a challenge for Garcia and possibly too much to handle. With his boxing, he will keep Garcia at bay making him unable to try any takedown attempts. My prediction: Kara-France wins via TKO in Round 2.

MIZUTO “PUGNUS” HIROTA (18-9-2) vs CHRISTOS “THE SPARTAN” GIAGOS (15-7-0)
This is a three-round fight in the lightweight division. Hirota brings boxing and sumo wrestling. Giagos brings boxing, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. Well-rounded grapplers both are; Giagos is more aggressive. From his mixture of jiu-jitsu and wrestling, he will be able to wear down Hirota faster. Even with his sumo wrestling, Hirota won’t be able to defend or keep up with Giagos in any way. My prediction: Giagos wins via submission in Round 3.

#8 WILSON REIS (22-9-0) vs #10 BEN “BEN 10” NGUYEN (18-7-0)
This is a three-round fight in the flyweight division. Reis brings boxing, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. Nguyen brings kickboxing, Muay Thai, taekwondo, judo, and jiu-jitsu. Both are well-rounded; Nguyen has more to bring. His mixture of Muay Thai, taekwondo, and jiu-jitsu will place enormous pressure on Reis. Even with wrestling, Reis he won’t be able to get close enough to Nguyen to secure a proper takedown. My prediction: Nguyen wins via unanimous decision

YUSHIN “THUNDER” OKAMI (35-11-0) vs ALEXEY “WOLVERINE” KUNCHENKO (19-0-0)
This is a three-round fight in the welterweight division. Okami brings kickboxing, pankration, judo, and wrestling. Kunchenko brings Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu. The wrestling of Okami should prove to be a challenge for Kunchenko. However, Kunchenko’s Muay Thai will be tough to get around. He his hard and always attacks on point. Okami gets rocked easily when hit just right and Kunchenko will be hitting him just right. My prediction: Kunchenko wins via knockout in Round 1.

Main Card (Fox Sports 1)

SUMAN MOKHTARIAN (8-0-0) vs SODIQ “SUPER” YUSUFF (7-1-0)
This is a three-round fight in the featherweight division. Mokhtarian brings striking, judo, and jiu-jitsu. Yusuff brings striking and grappling. The judo and wrestling Mokhtarian possesses is more grappling than Yusuff has ever obtained. With his lack of grappling Mokhtarian will tear him apart from the whole way through. My prediction: Mokhtarian wins via unanimous decision.

JIM “THE BRUTE” CRUTE (8-0-0) vs PAUL “BEARJEW” CRAIG (10-2-0)
This is a three-round fight in the light heavyweight division. Crute brings striking and jiu-jitsu. Craig brings boxing and jiu-jitsu. Similar style; Crute hits harder and more accurate. His ability to attack in a clean fashion and with speed will be his main weapon. Craig does have boxing, but it’s not as aggressive. Crute always fights with aggression and looks for the finish in the process. My prediction: Crute wins via TKO in Round 1.

JAKE “THE CELTIC KID” MATTHEWS (14-3-0) vs TONY MARTIN (14-4-0)
This is a three-round fight in the welterweight division. Matthews brings striking, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. Martin brings striking and jiu-jitsu. Similar style, but the wrestling Matthews possesses will give him the advantage. His ability to set up takedowns and defend will place pressure on Martin. Martin has jiu-jitsu, but it’s not at the level of Matthews’ wrestling. My prediction: Matthews wins via submission in Round 2.

#12 MAURICIO “SHOGUN” RUA (25-11-0) vs #14 TYSON PEDRO (7-2-0)
This is a three-round fight in the light heavyweight division. Rua brings Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu. He is a former light heavyweight champion. Pedro brings boxing, karate, and jiu-jitsu. Rua should be a challenge for Pedro with his Muay Thai. However, Rua has lost his chin power and Pedro can strike with his boxing. That in mind, Pedro will light up Rua until his lights go out completely. My prediction: Pedro wins via knockout in Round 1.

#10 MARK “SUPER SAMOAN” HUNT (13-13-1, 1 NC) vs #15 JUSTIN “BIG PRETTY” WILLIS (7-1-0)
This is a three-round co-main event in the heavyweight division. Hunt brings boxing, kickboxing, and jiu-jitsu. Willis brings striking and takedown attacks. Two heavy hitters will duke it out. For who has more power, Hunt looks to take this fight. He might not be the fastest or have the best defense, but he always brings the knockout power. Willis is not as strong of a hitter and if he gets hit just right he can be hurt. My prediction: Hunt wins via knockout in Round 1.

#7 JUNIOR “CIGANO” DOS SANTOS (19-5-0) vs #11 TAI “BAM BAM” TUIVASA (8-0-0)
This is a five-round main event in the heavyweight division. Dos Santos brings boxing and jiu-jitsu. He is a former heavyweight champion. Tuivasa brings boxing and kickboxing. Both have knockout power, however, dos Santos is faster and more accurate. Tuivasa likes to toy around and even struggles a little where dos Santos always looks for the kill. Even from all the recent beatings, dos Santos has proved to still be a threat and Tuivasa will soon discover. My prediction: dos Santos wins via TKO in Round 3.
