UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Mir will air on March 19, 2016 from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

#9 MARK “SUPER SAMOAN” HUNT (11-10-1) vs. #10 FRANK MIR (18-10-0)
This is five round main event in the heavyweight division. In this fight are two heavyweights that have become legends in the sport of mixed-martial arts and after years of competing they will finally cross paths to see who is now the better athlete inside the octagon. Hunt brings boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai that has made him one of the deadliest strikers in the heavyweight division and the UFC altogether with eight of his 11 victories being won by knockout. Mir brings boxing, Muay Thai, American Kenpo, jiu-jitsu and wrestling that has made him a highly trained submission specialist giving him the most victories by submission (eight) in the UFC heavyweight division as well as the most victories (16). With what both fighters bring it looks to be as if the fight will contain a great striker against and well-rounded grappler and by the looks of things the fight seems to favor Mir more due to his ability to take his opponents down and use his wrestling and jiu-jitsu to try and place them in submission holds to get the win, which is where Hunt is very weak. Though if Hunt were to keep the fight on their feet then he would most likely win easily with his deadly power that has left many of his opponents knocked out cold. Hunt is one of only two fighters to ever knockout out Roy Nelson. However this fight turns out, fans can guarantee that they will see a war between these two heavyweights that are looking to put everything on the line in the hopes of finding themselves fighting for the title in the near future. My prediction: Mir wins via submission in Round 2.

#13 HECTOR “SHOWEATHER” LOMBARD (35-4-1, 1 NC) vs. #9 NEIL MAGNY (17-4-0)
This is a three round fight in the welterweight division. In this fight are two fighters planning to move into a title contender position and are looking to do so with a impressive victory to prove that they deserve to be in line for the belt in the near future. Magny brings striking, jiu-jitsu and wrestling that has lead him to a great MMA record as well as being efficient in all three methods of victory. Lombard brings judo, boxing, kickboxing and jiu-jitsu that has lead him to be one of the most dominate welterweights in the UFC as well as a middleweight when he competed in the division. With both fighters having a skill set of both standing and ground game the fight looks to be worth watching. Based on skill set, Lombard looks to take this fight with ease as he has competed in many more fights and at two different weight classes giving him a great advantage in this fight as he knows more about what it takes to come out on top with his skill set that he has developed. Though we cannot forget when he tested positive for steroids at UFC 182 in January of 2015 and that could be a major factor that lead him to a few other victories as well depending on how long he took them. So if steroids were his main use of choice in his fights then possibly Magny could capitalize on that and use his striking and ground game to put Lombard in a world of trouble and show that steroids don’t help in winning at all. But Lombard has always been well-rounded in his skills and for Magny to get a victory he will have to come up with some good combinations that would catch Lombard off guard to where he could set up a submission attempt or a knockout victory. My prediction: Lombard wins via unanimous decision.

BEC “ROWDY” RAWLINGS (6-4-0) vs. SEO HEE HAM (16-6-0)
This is a three round fight in the strawweight division. In this fight are two women at the bottom of the leader board that are looking to make it into the top ten this year. In order to do so they plan to make a big statement with an epic win over their opponent in this matchup. Rawlings brings boxing with some submission techniques that has lead her to a mediocre record in MMA. Ham brings boxing and kickboxing that has made her well-rounded with striking to where she has won 14 of her 16 victories by decision. With both fighters being striking specialist the fight looks to be a pure boxing match, but what will set the fight a part is which fighter can outlast their opponent. In this case it looks to favor Ham. Though Rawlings does have some submission techniques up her sleeve if she were able to bring the fight to the ground then Rawlings could possibly finish the fight with a solid submission victory since Ham really does not like going to the ground in her fights. However, Ham does have some submissions of her own so she could possibly counter some of Rawlings submissions and use them against her, but in order to do so Ham will have to get by Rawlings aggressive style of fighting. My prediction: Ham wins via unanimous decision.
