By Kyler Kuehler

The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters Finale will air on November 30, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Preliminary Card (Fight Pass)

RAONI BARCELOS (12-1-0) vs CHRIS “EL GUAPO” GUTIERREZ (12-3-1)
This is a three-round fight in the bantamweight division. Barcelos brings striking and jiu-jitsu. Gutierrez brings striking and jiu-jitsu. Similar fighters, but Barcelos possesses the better striking. He is faster and hits harder than Gutierrez. Even in a jiu-jitsu battle, Barcelos has the advantage. However, he won’t need to use it since he has the knockout power. My prediction: Barcelos wins via knockout in Round 1.

TIM “THE DIRTY BIRD” MEANS (27-10-1, 1 NC) vs RICKY “THE SNIPER” RAINEY (13-5-0)
This is a three-round fight in the welterweight division. Means brings boxing and jiu-jitsu. Rainey brings striking and jiu-jitsu. The jiu-jitsu both bring is just about identical. However, when it comes to striking Means’ boxing is more efficient. Rainey doesn’t have a set striking style and that will be his downfall. Means will attack him on their feet while mixing in some ground game to wear Rainey down. My prediction: Means wins via unanimous decision.

ROOSEVELT “THE PREDATOR” ROBERTS (6-0-0) vs DARRELL “THE SAINT” HORCHER (13-3-0)
This is a three-round fight in the lightweight division. Roberts brings striking and jiu-jitsu. Horcher brings striking and wrestling. A close matchup; Horcher has the better grappling from his wrestling. With his wrestling, he will be able to get by Roberts’ jiu-jitsu and turn the fight into and ground-and-pound. He will score crucial points until the final bell. My prediction: Horcher wins via unanimous decision.

Preliminary Card (Fox Sports 1)

LEAH “NIDAS” LETSON (4-1-0) vs JULIJA STOLIARENKO (4-2-2)
This is a three-round fight in the women’s featherweight division. Letson brings striking. Stoliarenko brings striking and judo. Both can strike, but Stoliarenko can grapple as well─Letson, not so much. Without grappling techniques, Letson will have difficulty keeping the fight standing. Stoliarenko will take the fight to the ground and dominate until finding the submission hold. My prediction: Stoliarenko wins via submission in Round 1.

MAURICE “THE PIRATE” GREENE (5-2-0) vs MICHEL BATISTA (4-0-0, 1 NC)
This is a three-round fight in the heavyweight division. Greene brings kickboxing and jiu-jitsu. Batista brings striking and wrestling. These two fighters are on the rise. However, Greene will rise first with his knockout power. Batista has the power as well, but not as much. Greene will control the fight while pressuring Batista. Batista will then become weak and Greene will move in for the kill. My prediction: Greene via knockout in Round 1.

#3 JOSEPH BENAVIDEZ (25-5-0) vs ALEX PEREZ (21-4-0)
This is a three-round fight in the flyweight division. Benavidez brings boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and wrestling. Perez brings striking, judo, and jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. The Muay Thai and wrestling Benavidez possesses is a great threat to Perez. However, he has shown a rough decline in performance lately. Perez’s striking and wrestling is at the level Benavidez used to be and that will give him the advantage. My prediction: Benavidez wins via split decision.

RICK “THE GLADIATOR” GLENN (21-5-1) vs KEVIN “THE ANGEL OF DEATH” AGUILAR (15-1-0)
This is a three-round fight in the featherweight division. Glenn brings boxing, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. Aguilar brings boxing and jiu-jitsu. Glenn’s jiu-jitsu and wrestling appear to be too much for Aguilar to handle. Aguilar has a great defense and efficient knockout power to cause damage upon Glenn. Glenn seems to have lost some of his ability to handle heavy strikes. That is where Aguilar will attack him the most. My prediction: Aguilar wins via knockout in round 2.

Main Card (Fox Sports 1)

JI YEON “FIRE FIST” KIM (8-1-2) vs ANTONINA “LA PANTERA” SHEVCHENKO (6-0-0)
This is a three-round fight in the women’s flyweight division. Kim brings boxing, Hapkido, Wushu, and jiu-jitsu. Shevchenko brings boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, taekwondo, and judo. They are both well-rounded, but Shevchenko is much faster and more accurate. Her kickboxing and Muay Thai are always on spot and her taekwondo gives her great defense. Kim can try her jiu-jitsu, but it won’t be enough to counter Shevchenko’s judo. My prediction: Shevchenko wins via knockout in Round 1.

DARREN “THE DENTIST” STEWART (9-3-0, 1 NC) vs EDMEN SHAHBAZYAN (7-0-0)
This is a three-round fight in the middleweight division. Stewart brings striking. Shahbazyan brings boxing and karate. They both can strike, but Shahbazyan’s karate will make all the difference. He will be able to defend against Stewart’s attacks while laying down attacks on Stewart. Stewart has no defense and that will prove to be the death of him. My prediction: Shahbazyan wins via knockout in Round 1.

#9 PEDRO “THE YOUNG PUNISHER” MUNHOZ (16-3-0, 1 NC) vs BRYAN ” KID LIGHTNING” CARAWAY (21-8-0)
This is a three-round fight in the bantamweight division. Munhoz brings boxing, Muay Thai, and jiu-jitsu. Caraway brings striking, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. They both can strike and grapple but it is Munhoz who is more well-rounded. His boxing mixed with his jiu-jitsu will help him dominate Caraway in a ground-and-pound battle. Caraway is not that great in ground-and-pound defense and that is why Munhoz will take control of the fight. My prediction: Munhoz wins via submission in Round 2.

MACY CHIASSON (2-0-0) vs PANNIE “BANZAI” KIANZAD (10-3-0)
This is a three-round fight in the women’s featherweight division for the Ultimate Fighter Championship. Chiasson brings striking and grappling. Kianzad brings boxing, shootfight, and wrestling. Not much to know about both fighters, but Kianzad brings well-rounded boxing and that will play a major effect. Chiasson has no set base striking pattern and that will be her downfall in this fight. Even her lack of experience will do her no good in this fight. My prediction: Kianzad wins via TKO in Round 1.

JUAN FRANCISCO “EL GUAPO” ESPINO DIEPPA (8-1-0) vs JUSTIN” THE GRIZZLY BEAR” FRAZIER (10-2-0)
This is a three-round fight in the heavyweight division for the Ultimate Fighter Championship. Dieppa brings striking and jiu-jitsu. Frazier brings striking and some grappling. Similar style, but Frazier has the better knockout power. The jiu-jitsu Dieppa possesses is great, but not enough to stop Frazier. Frazier will attack Dieppa throughout the fight until Dieppa can no longer continue. My prediction: Frazier wins via TKO in Round 2.

#3 RAFAEL DOS ANJOS (28-10-0) vs #6 KAMARU “NIGERIAN NIGHTMARE” USMAN (13-1-0)
This is a five-round main event in the welterweight division. Dos Anjos brings Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu. He is a former lightweight champion. Usman brings striking, jiu-jitsu, and wrestling. Usman’s wrestling is his greatest weapon as dos Anjos has always had difficulty with wrestlers. However, his striking is not all that great and he sometimes looks sloppy in his fights. Dos Anjos has always been aggressive with his striking and that will cause trouble for Usman. Usman will be able to get a few takedowns landed, but not enough to gain necessary control. My prediction: dos Anjos wins via split decision.
