Are the Texas Rangers better off skipping some of mama’s home town cooking? Absolutely, if the Rangers could get a to go box of whatever they are eating on the road and save it for the home games they would be the best offensive team in baseball. Below are some stats that show how the team compares home vs. away games.

Rank in MLB Runs Hits Avg. OBP.
Home      #21 99 210 .249 .367
Away      #1 139 300 .279 .402

Boasting the best batting average while playing away from Globe Life Park is like a having your kid behaving or acting right for strangers but when they get home anything goes!

The Texas Rangers have always enjoyed their own park and it has always been known as a hitters park. This is probably why the Rangers are so frustrating to watch night in and night out. The inconsistency of their offense is tough to watch when fans are used to seeing five plus runs a game like in previous years. It’s going to be hard to recondition expectations and know the offense is going to be more like an elevator with lots of ups and downs.

The Rangers pitching staff is a little more consistent in both home and away games, ranking #21 and #22 respectively.

When is the best day to tune into a Rangers game? Try Thursday. The team is batting a cool .319

In June the Texas Rangers will play 25 games, 15 home and 10 away. This month will be a true test of the direction the Rangers will go. Will they be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline? If they can get some cooking from Detroit or Minneapolis then they might have a fighter’s chance.
