After leading by as many as 14 points, TCU could not withstand a big second half by Lipscomb as the Bisons defeated No. 18 TCU, 73-64, on Tuesday night inside Schollmaier Arena.
TCU (3-1) was in control to open the game and stretched its lead out to as many as 14 over the Bisons (4-1) in the first half behind 13 points from senior Alex Robinson. Lipscomb used a 3-pointer from Andrew Fleming followed by two free throws to take its first lead of the game before Robinson scored from beyond-the-arc with the clock winding down to send TCU into the locker room with a 30-29 lead.
The lead for the Frogs did not last long as Lipscomb used a layup 10 seconds into the second half to take back the lead. The Bisons stretched out the advantage to as many as 12 before TCU began to chip away at the lead and used six points from Robinson and freshman Kendric Davis in a one minute time frame to bring the game within one. It proved to not be enough for the Frogs as Lipscomb went on a 9-1 run in the final two minutes to close out the game.
Robinson led TCU with a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds with Davis finishing with 14 point and JD Miller chipping in 11 points. Sophomore Kouat Noi saw action for the first time this season and finished with a career-high nine rebounds and four points in 23 minutes played.
