The Texas Rangers swept the St. Louis Cardinals this past weekend. They now sit with a 45-25 overall record and they’re now 8.5 games ahead of the second place Mariners in the A.L. West Standings. The Rangers have now won nine consecutive series, which extends their current franchise record! As a matter of fact, the Rangers are on a six-game winning streak, which is a season-high.

St. Louis is a place that really brings up sad memories for Texas Ranger fans. Remember when the Rangers were not once but twice one strike away from being World Series Champs, and they didn’t get the job done? What’s sadder is that the Rangers are 6-0 against St. Louis since the 2011 World Series.

The series was a bit of a tough one, however. Game 1 was a 1-0 win with the only run being a solo shot by Rougned Odor. How often do you see a win like that? Not very often, right? The next two games were wins that saw the Rangers come from behind to win.

Right now the Texas Rangers really look like a team that is perfectly capable of reaching the World Series. They haven’t reached the All-Star break yet so there’s still plenty of baseball left to be played. All the Rangers need to do is to continue to win series and stay focused. They don’t need to get a sweep every series, they just need to win them. That’s the key to making it to the World Series.

The Rangers are on their way back to Arlington. Tonight they will play Baltimore in a make-up game and then the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox next.
