The North Texas Mean Green have won two in a row after going on a five-game losing streak. They’re now sitting with a 4-6 record in Conference USA play and a 9-14 overall record. Despite being a very tough spot this deep into the season, the Mean Green continue to play hard with no intention of just giving up. With only six games remaining, the Mean Green must find a way to win them all.

My thoughts on their last two wins
Vs Southern Mississippi: This was just a back-and-forth game with both teams exchanging baskets, although the Mean Green did have an eleven point lead, but Southern Miss. was able to climb back into the game. The first half ended with the Mean Green up 29-26. The second half, however, was different. After an early 31-31 tie in the opening minutes of the second half, the Mean Green took the lead and went the rest of the game without losing it. The Mean Green would increase their lead and Southern Miss. would not be able to find a way to stay in the game. The Mean Green won the game 70-54. J-Mychal Reese led the Mean Green with 19 points with Jeremy Combs adding 14 points with nine rebounds.

Vs Louisiana Tech: What started out as a very difficult game but ended in a win for the Mean Green against a very strong Louisiana Tech Bulldogs team. With the Mean Green trailing by ten at half time, and trailing by eleven during the second half, to rallying and taking the lead and holding on to it for the rest of the game. The Mean Green fought hard and won 80-69. Deckie Johnson led the Mean Green 21 points with Jeremy Combs and Eric Katenda added an additional 16 points each.

The Mean Green will be off until this Thursday when they will travel to Norfolk to take on Old Dominion University. The Mean Green need to be prepared for this as they cannot afford another loss. They need to continue to win if they want to keep their season alive.
