It had been almost five years since the former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar competed inside the Octagon of the UFC. At UFC 200 he made his return for a one fight deal against the ‘Super Samoan’ Mark Hunt in which he put on a great performance and won by a classic unanimous decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-27).
Social media then blew up as post just came in with the mention of Lesnar’s victory, but one that seems to catch the eye of everyone the most was a Tweet from the former Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos in which he tweeted: “Congratulations on your victory Brock. CAN I SEE YOU NOW?”
With a former champion seemingly calling out another former champion it now looks as if Lesnar has his next opponent already chosen for him, but since his fight at 200 was a one fight deal only and he is still signed with the WWE the possibility of the fight ever happening is uncertain.
Though if Lesnar decided to take another fight then this fight would be interesting to watch as Lesnar showed that he is a more well-rounded fighter in his return to the UFC than when he first entered the company in 2008. Lesnar was mainly just a big guy with pure strength as his only weapon of choice and no other martial arts skills. With the new Lesnar we saw on the biggest card in UFC history it looks to be as if he has new potential to make it in the sport once again only this time as a full on martial artist rather than a brawler.
There is even great improvement that we have seen in dos Santos when he faced Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 86 as he just dominated the big man in a clean fashion and managed to withstand many strong punches even after he suffered two demolishing beatings from another former champion Cain Velasquez in their second and third meeting.
With that being said this matchup would surely be a great one to see and also bring in large amounts of money for the company as well, which would be another main reason why UFC president Dana White would surely love to make this fight happen. Dana likes to talk money and he likes to bring fans what they want and this fight is something they are going to want.
Now the only thing left is to negotiate a deal, set the date and we will be off to see what just might be another epic heavyweight showdown that the UFC has been planning for quiet sometime.
“DOS SANTOS vs. LESNAR? HELL YEAH BABY!”
