Henry Cejudo has truly been making a name for himself in short time competing inside the Octagon of the UFC where he has gone undefeated in all four of his fights with the UFC and remains undefeated in his professional career (10-0). Within a year he has risen to the top of the leader board to the number three spot, which now puts him in the running for a potential title shot.
With his Olympic wrestling background which has shown to be extremely effective inside the Octagon, Cejudo looks to be labeled as the man who could defeat Demetrious Johnson and permanently keep the title away from Johnson thus creating a new name for himself and could become the next dominating champion of the flyweight division.
Though Johnson has had some pretty tough fights throughout his career along while competing in two different weight classes. Johnson looks to be unstoppable as he has beaten every top fighter in the flyweight division and cleaned the division leaving no competition; except for Cejudo, who looks to be his last real challenge in the entire division.
Johnson has taken on jiu-jitsu specialists, strikers, judo specialists and even wrestlers where he came out on top and proved why he is labeled as one of the best fighters to compete inside the Octagon. Yet Johnson still does not receive the recognition nor respect that he deserves.
With a win over Cejudo, Johnson just might get that and fans might begin to realize that Johnson is the “Anderson Silva” or “Jon Jones” of the flyweights. Though Johnson has taken on wrestlers in the past he has never faced one at the Olympic level, which is just what it might take to defeat him as Cejudo is well-rounded in the skill set of wrestling and always uses it to his full advantage making him more of a threat to Johnson’s title reign.
That is mainly why Cejudo just might be the man to give Johnson a true run for his money and finally clean him of the title and possibly help the division become more known to the fans if Cejudo has an epic victory over Johnson to become the first ever Olympic Gold Medalist to ever hold UFC gold.
With the fight scheduled as the co-main event for UFC 197 fans will finally get to see this epic match up go down with the possibility of being a ‘Fight of the Night’ nominee and witnessing history being made.
