Denver Nuggets Overall Record: 32-46

The Denver Nuggets went 1-3 last week with their only win against the Memphis Grizzlies. The team is in 10th place in the Western Conference with four remaining games left in a disappointing season. The playoffs will have to wait for at least another season. This was a strange up and down year for the guys. There’s so much promise for next season but we’ve been saying that for the last seven years. Here’s the week in review.

Mar. 28 – Mavericks 97 – Nuggets 88 – Loss
Will Barton led the Nuggets with 23 points. I think he should win the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award this year coming off the bench. Emmanuel Mudiay scored 16 and added 7 assists in the loss. This team found a way to compete but fell off in the closing minutes of the game.

Mar. 30 – Nuggets 109 – Grizzlies 105 – Win
Emmanuel Mudiay scored 17 points in 31 minutes. Kenneth Faried scored only six points while grabbing five rebounds. Faried needs to rest since the season is pretty much over. He’s been playing the power forward position undersized and competing every night against the top post players in the league. On this night he looked a bit worn out. He’s the cornerstone of the Nuggets franchise and he needs help to turn everything around for this team next year. Will Barton played well again leading the team with 25 points.

Mar. 31 – Pelicans 101 – Nuggets 95 – Loss
Darrell Arthur played his butt off in this contest. He led the team in scoring with 24 in 22 minutes. Gary Harris chipped in 16, while Emmanuel Mudiay added 13. Defense played a big part in the loss. When you start shooting ill taken jumpshots in the fourth quarter they will lead to fast brakes. Look, all season the team just ran out of gas. It’s sad to see this team just give up in the fourth of every game.

Apr. 2 – Kings 115 – Nuggets 106 – Loss
The key to this loss… Rudy Gay! No one could stop him on the wing. He scored in every aspect of this game. No one played any defense until the latter parts of the third and fourth quarters. Gary Harris led the team in scoring with 19 points and added two assists. Will Barton struggled shooting on tired legs but played some quality defense.
