Denver Nuggets Overall Record: 21-31

The Denver Nuggets went 3-1 this past week with victories over the Raptors, Knicks and Bulls. You can see glimpses of the team playing like their record is 31-21 instead of the actual 21-31. I like the fire that they bring instead of playing shaky. It’s amazing how the team looks so good and at the same time look so bad. Let’s take a look at what happened to the Denver Nuggets this past week.

Feb. 1 – Nuggets 112 – Raptors 93 – Win
Nikola Jokic played like a beast! He looked as if he was back in Serbia. He played 30 minutes scoring 27 points and grabbing 14 rebounds adding four assists. The teamss both scored 32 points in the 1st quarter. At the half, Denver led by 11 points and never looked back for the rest of the game. Will Barton added 20 and 7 rebounds.

Feb. 3 – Jazz 85 – Nuggets 81 – Loss
The 3rd quarter is the Nuggets’ Achilles heel. If the guys come back from half time flat, it’s a sure bet that they will drop the game. Denver led at the half 46-40. But fell behind in a cold shooting 3rd quarter. Danilo Gallinari lead the team with 24 points and two rebounds. It isn’t good when your guards grab 10 rebounds and your forwards gets only two. Will Barton led the team with 10 rebounds and three steals. Board coverage cost the team. The Jazz out rebounded the Nuggets by 11 boards in this contest.

Feb. 5 – Nuggets 115 – Bulls 110 – Win
Denver jumped out on the Bulls in the 1st quarter, but gave the lead away in the 2nd quarter. It was 56-55 Bulls at the half. Denver came out in the 3rd quarter sluggish only scoring 18 points in the quarter. But in the 4th, came out running. Great defense played a factor in the final quarter. Danilo Gallinari scored 33 and grabbed three rebounds, Emmanuel Mudiay added 22 points and five assists while Will Barton scored 18 points and five rebounds. It was cool to see the guys fight tonight. Great win for Denver.

Feb. 7 – Nuggets 101- Knicks 96 – Win
Carmelo Anthony came back to help the Knicks with 21 points but it wasn’t enough to stop the surging Nuggets. Will Barton and Danilo Gallinari both scored 19 points each in the win. Denver came out smoking and the Knicks didn’t know what hit them. Denver scored 31 in the 1st quarter and 29 in the second. But came out slow in the 3rd scoring 17 points, but turned it around in the 4th. It was so good to see the guys fighting in the fourth quarter. Great week for the Nuggets!
