Denver Nuggets Overall Record: 31-43

The Denver Nuggets went 2-2 last week with a couple of key wins and some crazy loses. The team play is bipolar to say the least. I can honestly say that a few of the players are playing to fill the stat sheet. Look at how the guys play “Black Hole Basketball!” The point guard comes down to run a play and after he makes a pass the ball is shot. No board coverage and no flow on offense. Let’s take a look at Denver`s erratic play from last week.

Mar. 21 – Cavaliers 124 – Nuggets 91 – Loss
Will Barton played great wing defense on the Cavs swing men. He led the team with 27 points, while players Gary Harris, Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic added 11 points respectively. Heavy minutes by the Nuggets didn’t give them the fire they needed on the defensive end. LeBron James scored 33 points and J. R. Smith added 15 to get the win for the Cavs.

Mar. 23 – Nuggets 104 – 76ers 103 – Win
Emmanuel Mudiay scored 27 points and added 11 rebounds in the win. This game should’ve been over in the third quarter. The team came out flat after halftime again! Any win is a good win, but the Nuggets can’t keep playing catch up with teams at this time. The playoffs are just a dream for the Nuggets right now. All they can do is play for future contracts and audition for other teams now.

Mar. 25 – Nuggets 116 – Lakers 105 – Win
D. J. Augustin played like a leader this night. The Lakers got off to a great start with 31 points in the first quarter and Denver got tough in the third quarter with some stingy defense in the paint. Darrell Arthur played heavy minutes and some really good defense. Kobe Bryant scored 28 in the loss. Jordan Clarkson added 20 points and rebounds. The story of the game was how great the Nuggets played post defense.

Mar. 27 – Clippers 105 – Nuggets 90 – Loss
The Nuggets came out flat and stayed there! D. J. Augustin scored 18 points while Gary Harris struggled with 11. This game was lost in the paint. DeAndre Jordan made the ESPN highlight reel in all four quarters. None of the Nuggets big men played above the rim. It was like a poster photoshoot. After the first three point shot made by the Clippers the Nuggets practically gave up! The Nuggets have a good team but can’t string quality wins together because they are so inconsistent on both ends of the floor.
